The Forevermark® Promise
Forevermark® is a diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies. Forevermark diamonds are the world’s most carefully selected diamonds™.
Each Forevermark® diamond comes with a promise, that it is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. Proof of this promise lies at the heart of every diamond: a unique inscription, invisible to the naked eye.
Less than one percent of the world’s diamonds are eligible to be inscribed as Forevermark®.
Forevermark® inscribes each Forevermark® diamond with the Forevermark® icon and a unique identification number using patented technology developed by the De Beers Group. The depth of 1/500th of a human hair, and invisible to the naked eye, this inscription provides its owner with an assurance of exceptional quality and integrity:
• Each Forevermark® diamond has met the Forevermark® standards for clarity, color and carat.
• Each Forevermark® diamond must be SI clarity or above, L color or above, and 0.14 carat or above
• Each Forevermark® diamond has been cut and polished by selected Diamantaires to a quality of 'very good' or 'excellent.'
• Each Forevermark® diamond is genuine, natural, and untreated.
• Every Forevermark® diamond has been responsibly sourced, and can only be selected if it has met high standards of business, social and environmental integrity at every step of its journey.
• Forevermark® diamonds are only selected from sources which adhere to the U.N.-mandated Kimberley Process. They are carefully handled by partners who are committed to the De Beers Best Practice Principles and the Forevermark® standard of Pipeline Integrity.
Beauty. Forevermark® diamonds are genuine, untreated, and natural, crafted by Forevermark® diamantaires into works of beauty. Experts at the Forevermark® Diamond Institute carefully inspect every diamond, going beyond the science of the 4Cs to hand-pick diamonds that are truly beautiful to the naked eye.
Rarity. Forevermark diamonds® are carefully selected and rarer than rare. Less than one percent of the world's diamonds are eligible to become Forevermark®.
Founded in Trust. Forevermark diamonds® are cared for from the moment they are discovered, following strict labor and environmental standards. They adhere to the U.N. mandate of the Kimberley Process, offering consumers an additional reassurance of a diamond's journey from the time it comes out of the ground through the path of cutting and polishing to the moment it becomes a piece of jewelry.

Forevermark Grading System
King Jewelers can provide an additional promise: a Forevermark® Diamond Grading Report.
The Grading Report provides a precise record of the diamond's cut, clarity, color and carat weight. It is an accurate blueprint to remind you of the unique qualities that make your diamond worthy of your own promise.
A Forevermark® Grading Report assures you that your diamond has been precisely and accurately graded by highly respected leading diamond gemologists at the Forevermark® Diamond Institute in Antwerp, drawing on world-class bespoke Forevermark® grading processes and cutting edge technology developed over generations by the De Beers Group.
Every Forevermark Grading Report includes:
• An exclusive passport-sized report, including essential Four Cs technical detail on your unique diamond.
• A bespoke security hologram which ensures your grading report is valid and authentic.
• A unique identification number and barcode number which matches the number on your Forevermark® diamond and Forevermark® diamond identification card.
• A Forevermark® Grading Report holder.
Each Forevermark® Jeweler determines whether to accompany their Forevermark® diamonds with Grading Reports. King Jewelers always offers the corresponding Grading Report with the Forevermark® Diamond.
Choosing a Diamond
Every diamond is a unique miracle of nature.
There are almost as many ways to describe a diamond as there are diamonds. To standardize descriptions of diamonds' characteristics, a language, known as the 'Four Cs', was developed. Originally inspired in 1939 by De Beers assortment to classify rough diamonds, this language is now universally spoken in the diamond world. Each of the Four Cs describes a diamond's specific characteristics: its Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat weight. Only diamonds with certain Four Cs criteria can even be considered eligible to become Forevermark® diamonds.
Cut is the factor most involved in the sparkle of a polished diamond. Cut is expressed in terms of the brilliance, fire and scintillation of a diamond. To maximize sparkle, a diamond must be cut to very specific parameters of angle and dimension with a strict attention to the polished finish of the diamond.
Cut can range from Poor to Excellent. Only diamonds at the upper end of the tier – cut to a grade of "very good" or "excellent" – are eligible to become Forevermark®. This ensures that every Forevermark® diamond is a precious work of art, crafted to be beautiful and brilliant.
Nature ensures that every diamond is unique and as individual as the promise it represents. Naturally occurring features – known as inclusions – provide a special fingerprint within the diamond. Usually invisible to the naked eye, these tiny features appeared while the diamonds were forming in the earth millions of years ago. Clarity measures the diamond's purity; it refers to how free a diamond is from these tiny blemishes and inclusions.
Clarity can range from I (Included) to FL (Flawless). Only those diamonds with inclusions that are not visible to the naked eye – a clarity grade of SI (slightly included) or above – may be considered to become Forevermark®.
Diamonds occur naturally in all colors of the rainbow. Generally, apart from fancy colors, the rarest diamonds exhibit no color at all. Polished diamonds are graded for minute variations in depth of color, from 'colorless' to 'light color'. This is universally known as the D (meaning 'exceptional white') to Z ('tinted color') color scale.
Only diamonds with a color of L or above can qualify to become Forevermark®.
Diamond Carat Weight
Carat is a measure of weight. One carat (1 ct) equals 0.20 grams and is divided into 100 points (a half carat – also written 0.50 ct – diamond can be described as a 50-point diamond). Carat is only one measure of a diamond; two diamonds of equal carat weight can have very different values, depending on cut, clarity and color.
Only diamonds of 14 points (0.14 ct) may be considered to become Forevermark® diamonds.
