The Bentley Barnato is named after the most famous of the “Bentley Boys” who had acquired no less than 5 victories in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race between 1924 and 1930. Barnato is also named for an exceptional series of watches for men that embrace both superlative style and peerless performance made by Breitling. Breitling for Bentley has recently introduced a new sportier model in the Barnato series, a black-clad sports model called the Bentley Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon with only a 1,000 piece limited edition.
The tourbillon is one of the cherished complications of the watch-making world. Developed in the 18th century by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the tourbillon (meaning “whirlwind”) is a rotating framed within a watch that carries the balance and escapement. Breguet created the tourbillon as a means to make a watch movement more stable and accurate by counteracting the effects of gravity. Today, watch aficionados mostly appreciate the tourbillon for its complicated design and aesthetic appeal as they don’t make the movement more accurate. Do we need them? No, but we sure do love them.
Breitling releases a new limited Chronomat 41. With only 2,000 pieces, this limited edition Chronomat 41 still encompasses the signature look but with a new featured color set of red and black. Along with the other Chronomat 41 series, this model houses the Breitling automatic mechanical Caliber 01 movement (in-house, COSC-certified B01 debuged in 2009). The movement is fully visible from the caseback through the sapphire crystal. All contained in a 41mm polished steel case with water resistant up to 200 meters and power reserve of 70 hours.
