Watch Wednesday: Girard-Perregaux Laureato Collection

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Collection

Girard-Perregaux presents the Laureato Collection, a seemingly large compilation of luxury sports watches with something for every kind of watch enthusiast. Starting out as a limited edition timepiece released last year, consumer demands lead to the brand creating a series of new reference models in a wide array of options. To be exact, there are 34 models, showcasing the signature octogonal bezel, to choose from. Various case sizes, materials, complications, and more play into the breakdown of each timepiece within this line. Hence, why King Jewelers selected five renowned watches from the Girard-Perregaux Laureato series to cater to several different watch preferences.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Tourbillon 43mm

It’s no surprise that we will talk about the highly-coveted Laureato Tourbillon released in a titanium case and bracelet. Powered by an automatic micro-rotor movement, we admire the precision of the caliber GP09510. Measuring 43mm, the blue “Clou de Paris” dial features a textured pattern with accented blue and white indexes for easy readability, as well as end links. To illustrate, the tourbillon rests at six o’clock, showcasing an over-sized bridge that fuses two arrow-shaped ends. Thus, bringing nostalgia from the most well-known “Three Gold Bridges” pocket watch, this timepiece carries a small piece of history within it.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph 42mm

Another thrilling timepiece within the Laureato Collection is this 42mm chronograph. Similar to other Laureato models, this watch also features the same powerful identity that sets these timepieces apart from the rest. Made up of 904L steel, which is distinguished by its large chromium content, it flaunts its unparalleled corrosion resistance. After meticulous polishing, 904L steel showcases a vibrant radiance that keeps the sporty timepiece somewhat elegant. In addition, the silver dial radiates the “Clou de Paris” pattern, bestowing the timepiece with a bit of dimension. The seconds subdial sits at three o’clock, the minutes at nine o’clock, and the hours at six o’clock. A small date window reveals itself between the four and five hour markers. This watch is available in various color and strap options.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Perpetual Calendar

Lastly, we wanted to feature the highly-coveted Girard-Perregaux Perpetual Calendar. This timepiece was released during the 2019 SIHH showcase in Geneva, Switzerland. As we previously discussed in our “Gerard-Perregaux SIHH Releases” blog, this watch deserves the extra amount of attention. A muted blue dial, complete with “Clou de Paris” detailing houses the enthralling month disc window, off-centered at six o’clock. Above that, we admire a tiny leap year indicator. For imagery, the date rests in a subdial between hour markers one and two. Subsequently, the day subdial sits at nine o’clock, slightly smaller than its neighbor. The industrial elegance portrayed by brushed and polished stainless-steel against an asymmetrical dial design leaves watch enthusiasts particularly intrigued.
