Breitling Celebrates Navitimer 60th Anniversary with John Travolta
It’s the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Breitling’s iconic aviation timepiece, the Navitimer. Breitling’s ambassador, John Travolta has traveled to Singapore last week to honor and commemorate the 60th anniversary and the newly launched Breitling Navitimer Blue Sky. Since its first launch in 1952 the Navitimer is certainly a forerunner of its kind. Breitling claims that the Navitimer is the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production.
The Breitling Navitimer Blue Sky is limited edition timepiece featuring a 43mm steel case that houses the automatic mechanical manufacture Breitling Caliber 01 (COSC). Also utilizes the bidirectional rotating bezel with circular slide rule. The dial is Aurora Blue and complements nicely with the exclusively paired dark blue crocodile leather strap. It is also available in the Air Racer strap or Navitimer Bracelet, but who can say no to the Blue Crocodile?
While most limited editions from luxury timepiece brands including Breitling typically release thousands of pieces, the Navitimer Blue Sky is only limited to 500 pieces globally and retailing for about $10,000. With the history, appeal, and limited availability of the Navitimer Blue Sky, it is surely a collector’s piece.
