SIHH 2012 Spotlight: Montblanc Vintage Tachydate Watch

montblanc villeret 1858 vintage tachydate watch

The vintage trend still reigns supreme at this year’s SIHH. Montblanc is showing off a fantastically chic Vintage Tachydate from the Villeret 1858 collection. Montblanc is relatively new to the watch-making game (their first watch collection Star came out in 1997), but they are by no means inexperienced. Montblanc was initially aided by the watchmaking masters of Cartier and they’ve quickly moved on to developing their own exclusive in-house movements. This ability to adjust quickly has made Montblanc one of the strongest emerging watch brands. With pieces like the Vintage Tachydate, it may be no surprise in a few years when Montblanc is more known for their timepieces than their writing instruments.

The Montblanc Vintage Tachydate watch houses a new Minerva manufactured Caliber MB M16.32 monopusher chronograph movement developed specifically for this watch. The solitary crown pusher installed at the right-hand side of the case controls all of the functions in this chronograph watch. The vintage elements of this watch includes the Breguet numerals on the ivory-colored dial and a rounded case that comes in either 18 karat white or rose gold. The case is a larger 43.5 mm to suit modern watch-wearing tastes.

The Montblanc Villeret 1858 Vintage Tachydate Watch will be a limited edition of 58 pieces in white gold and 58 pieces in roes gold.
